Bilko puts on a show in Portland {2008 }
Australia's Blake Williams thrilled Portland crowds on the weekend, performing a number of his customary FMX jumps as part of an exhibition session at the Wendy's Invitational.
Bilko currently leads the 2008 AST Dew Tour after an incredible opening round where he toppled the favourites and added a big bag of points to his account.
Tour promoters then announced a dramatic change to the five round schedule, which would see only three of the rounds awarded championship status.
The Right Guard Open in Cleveland and last weekend's Wendy's Invitational in Portland provided the Aussie with a good chance to reward his fans for their dedication and added more valuable competition experience to his resume.
The AST Dew Tour officially resumes in Salt Lake City from September 11-14 with points up for grabs once more.
With a perfect 100 points to his name, Bilko knows that repeating the feat he achieved in Baltimore will be a tough ask, considering the calibre of the opposition.
"The weekend was a good chance to get out there and give my shoulder a workout, it felt pretty good and I'm looking forward to getting back into competition at the next round at Salt Lake City," said Williams.
"There's mixed opinions on the length of the tour and the cancellation of both Cleveland and Portland – in the end the decision was made because of the small venues and we have to live with that."
"Baltimore has definitely been the highlight of the year for me, that was two months ago now so I'm itching to get out there and add some extra points."
"It won't be easy - I'm up against the best there is and these guys are constantly raising the bar."
The 23-year-old has already eclipsed his personal best season pointscore on the 2008 Dew Tour, with injury troubling him in previous seasons.
He finished 2007 on 75 points and 2006 on 46 points. He is currently on course to be the only Australian FMX rider to win the world's richest action sports tour since it began in 2005.
