Bilko breezes through qualifying at Dew Tour opener {2008 }
Australia's Blake 'Bilko' Williams is charging towards a strong showing on the 2008 AST Dew Tour after easily making the cut in qualifying ahead of the weekend's opening event in Baltimore.
The plucky Victorian has shaken off a nightmare run of injuries to bounce back where he belongs, amongst the frontrunning FMX riders on the tour.
He finished in third place during the preliminary FMX session. Bilko said it was good to get his Dew Tour campaign underway with few troubles in qualifying.
"The last 12 months have been very up and down for me and after returning to competition just a few months ago, I feel very good on the bike and am ready to stand up and be counted this weekend," said Williams.
"I was confident I would be up there in qualifying, I've gotten in as much practice time as I could and this result is a real boost."
"There's a lot more to do this weekend and I'll be concentrating on pulling out the best I can for the judges."
This weekend's Panasonic Open kicks off the tour, which then heads to Cleveland and Portland (FMX Exhibition only) and then to Salt Lake City and Orlando.
As well as his Dew Tour commitments, Bilko is also hastily preparing to contest the X Games at the end of July.
